I have found that the light is often best early in the morning before and after sunrise.
The first camera I owned was a Kodak Hawkeye that included a large flash attachment, which required a new bulb for each picture. I have gone through many cameras since those days. I now exclusively shoot with a Nikon D500 and my recently acquired Nikon Z6ii. My photographic passion includes taking pictures in the places we most often visit, cities in Europe (with a concentration on Paris) and Los Cabos, Mexico, especially birds and sunrises. Photography is all about the light. I have found that the light is often best early in the morning before and after sunrise. I have also found that this is the time when I least encounter other people, and I can capture scenes just as they are at that time of day without interference. What I experience on my early morning photographic expeditions is nearly a Zen-like time where my focus is just on seeing and photographing, without outside or inside distractions. It’s almost like meditation. Nearly all the photographs presented here were taken before the denizens of these areas were out and about. I have processed them using digital darkroom tools found in Photoshop and various other programs that work with Photoshop.
